Lauren Stichter

Lauren Stichter (she/her) combines her love for art with a deep commitment to making education accessible and equitable for everyone. She holds a BFA in Ceramics and a Teaching Certification from Tyler School of Art at Temple University, along with an MA in Education from Arcadia University. Over the past 25 years, she has balanced her work as a ceramic artist at HyMy Pottery Studio with a meaningful career in education and leadership, including her time as a PreK–12 lead art teacher at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

As Director and Associate Professor of Art Education at Moore College of Art & Design, Lauren leads curriculum development, builds partnerships, and mentors future educators. Beyond the classroom, she is a sought-after keynote speaker, guest lecturer, and advocate for inclusive education. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the 2024 Council for Exceptional Children’s (CEC) Art Educator of the Year Award, the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Art in Special Education Award, and the PAEA Outstanding Art Educator of the Year Award. Most recently, in 2025, Lauren received the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Eastern Region Art Educator of the Year Award, underscoring her national impact in the field.
